Strong Username Guidelines

  • Usernames must have at least six (6) characters.
  • We recommend using a combination of letters, numbers and special characters:
    • Letters: (Aa-Zz)
    • Numbers: (0-9)
    • Special Characters: .(dot)-(dash) or _(underscore) only.
  • Usernames can't begin or end with symbols and can't include consecutive symbols.

Strong Password Guidelines

  • Password must be between 8 and 20 characters long, including one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number (0-9).
  • We recommend using a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters:
    • Letters: (Aa-Zz)
    • Numbers: (0-9)
    • Special Characters: (@#$%^&*()_+|~-=`{}[]:;"<>'./)
    • Symbols that aren't allowed are backslash (\) and opening/closing double quotes (" ")

Important Points For Creating A Strong Password

  1. Use a password that is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess.
  2. Avoid using the word password, changeme, Spectrum, Charter, or your user name/sign-in ID as your password.
  3. Don't include personal information such as name or birth date in your password.
  4. Avoid using keyboard patterns (asdf) or sequential numbers (1234).
  5. Don't repeat characters (aa11).
  6. Don't share your password or username via email.
