After Watching Zack Snyder's Justice League I got a question in my mind, Why not Green Lantern included In DC Films' Justice League? If I am being honest, it is a racially charged decision. DC knows John Stewart is the most popular and identifiable Green Lantern right now. But they want to use Hal Jordan as the first never mind he had a shot and failed in his own hotshot Macho man movie in 2011. So they want time to either make John Stewart someone who is forgotten about or push up others while the re-brand Hal as more of a John Stewart and make John more of a Hal Jordan.
In Zack Snyder's Justice League or The Snyder Cut, when Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) says to Batman " The Unity of 6" which means, Wonder Woman, Batman, Cyborg, The Flash, Aquaman, and Superman. Why DC didn't include Green Lantern in the Unity of 7?
What DC writers are hoping for is a audience who will not notice when they bring both guys back and put Hal in charge of John.
John Stewart like it or not is the Green Lantern, and DC is doing all it can to change that narrative.
Comic Book writers can do what they like because only a few hundred thousand comic books are sold annually, on the big screen people like to see diversity, this is why DC is struggling to find its footing.
The Book writers are good for comics but more importantly, there is a reason they aren’t writing major motion picture shows…
As per Executive producer Charles Roven “Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there’s the possibility that Green Lantern may or may not be in Justice League 2,” he said. “For now, we felt that we were introducing enough characters that the best possible place we could put Green Lantern is some introduction in Justice League 2, or barring that, a movie after.”
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) not being a founding Justice League member is almost the same level of sin as Ant-Man and Wasp not being founding Avengers. BUT, he was in the movie apparently.
I think it was when Kevin Smith talked about Snyder’s original plans, Green Lantern, being another veteran hero would have known Batman and would’ve been the one Alfred was talking to in the trailer. He said "you’d come” or something to that effect.
How could Batman know he’d come it if was Superman like theorized? They didn’t put a Green Lantern in the history lesson for no reason.
