By reaching age twenty, he joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and worked as an Army officer for three years. Eventually, things got better for Dan Peña and he made it back on track. Peña graduated from San Fernando Valley State College in 1971 from the School of Business and Economics. 

Peña began his career on Wall Street, as a financial analyst. Afterward, he became president of Great Western Resources which is an oil company based in Houston listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1984. In the same year, Peña bought Guthrie Castle in Angus Scotland, the place from which he started operating several businesses.  

In 2017, the castle estate manager was accused of fraud by overbooking wedding facilities and paying the higher charges to their own account. Nevertheless, Peña forgave his employee and covered the money stolen from his clients, a total of £130,000. 

Achievements
