Looking at its history, it is a 1999 incident, when four people were mysteriously found hanging in a fence at Cardona Valley Road, Otago. After this, the people around also started putting bra there.

Gradually this fence was transformed into a bra wall, when only bras started appearing. It is said that the tourists coming here also take off their undergarments and place them in this fence and bra hanging has become a tradition here.

It is said that later a thief started stealing the bra from this fence at night, but every time the bra was stolen, more bra was seen hanging in that fence the next day. Due to its interesting story, this fence started to become so famous that there was a traffic jam, so this fence was removed from the main highway and turned inward.

Significantly, an event was organized in 2015 to raise funds to help breast cancer patients, since then its name was changed from Cardona Bra Fence to Bradrona.
