Govinda Naam Mera is a Hindi-language comedy thriller film written and directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan under the banner Dharma Productions, in association with Viacom18 Studios. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani and released on 16 December 2022 on Disney+Hotstar.

Vicky Kaushal has played the role as Govinda “Govya” Waghmare while actress Bhumi Pednekar as Gauri Waghmare, Govinda’s wife, Rajat’s girlfriend with Kiara Advani as Sukubai “Suku” Deshmukh, Govinda’s girlfriend.

In Jan 2022, it was announced that Karan Johar and Shashank Khaitan were set to come together again after several associations for a spy comedy titled Mr. Lele starring Varun Dhawan, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. However, the project was delayed a few months later due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

One year later, In Jan 2021, the film was rekindled with Bhumi Pednekar rejoining the cast, Vicky Kaushal replaced Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani replaced Janhvi Kapoor.

In August 2022, it was announced that the film was heading for an OTT streaming release on Disney+ Hotstar with the film’s digital and satellite rights being sold to the Disney Star network for Rs 62 crores.

Govinda Naam Mera film is now premiered on 16 December 2022 on streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar in the Hindi language in 480p, 720p, 1080p, and 4K quality (Resolutions depending on your device and Hotstar plan).
