American horror story is currently filming its highly anticipated 10th season, American Horror Story: Double Feature. With that, they have recruited many an actor and actress who have appeared in the previous seasons of the show. Why? Well, as always, American horror story tries to outdo itself in terms of what it can do with the season-long anthology format.
As Double function implies, this season of American horror story will be two stories in one, set along the coast. Based on the poster, we suspect it has to do with aliens and vampires in each of the stories. Make your “Science Fiction Double Feature” jokes here. Now, though, the real question is, is this an actor’s last season? American horror story?
Long associated with the franchise, Lily Rabe tweeted about “finishing” the filming of the season. So what does this mean? Is Lily Rabe leaving the series? Or is another actor or actress looking for a way out? Here’s everything we know about it.
Lily Rabe revealed that she recently “finished” filming “American Horror Story: Double Feature”, indicating she may not be returning for the second part of the season. #AHSDouble Function pic.twitter.com/jfe4kyzihK

American Horror Story: Double Feature is, well, a double function. The whole idea of the season is to tell two different stories with two different casts. Ryan Murphy made that clear from the start by saying, “It means TWO SEASONS for the fans who broadcast in one calendar year! So double viewing pleasure.” So just because Rabe is wrapping up filming doesn’t mean she’s leaving the series. She just finished her part of the season.
According to Murphy, “One by the sea (this cast has already been announced). One second by the sand (that cast announcement is coming).” For the “sea” cast we have Sarah Paulson, Evans Peters, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock and Frances Conroy returning to the show.Macaulay Culkin and Kaia Gerber make their … American horror story debuts.
Considering that Rabe did the shooting for the ‘sea’ part of American Horror Story: Double Feature, we suspect we’ll see cast announcements for the “sand” portion of the season soon. Based on the footage we’ve seen, we suspect that vampires will make up the “sea” portion of the season, while the “sand” portion will be aliens. Of course, this is just theorizing at this point.
So no one is leaving American horror story?
As far as we know, no one really can leave American horror story. It’s not like a cult or anything. But due to the anthological nature of the series, if you’re an actor who was in it and want to return then you’re more than welcome to return. Even an actress with a widely publicized exit, Jessica Lange, returns for a season of American horror story after she left.
Basically, if you’ve worked on it and would like to come back, get back to it. Or if you want to sit out the season like Sarah Paulson & Evans Peters did with AHS: 1984then that is also an option. It really comes down to whether you, the actor or actress, want to stay on American horror story for future seasons or not. So yeah, it doesn’t look like anyone is leaving.
As for part two of American horror story: Double function We know the cast is packed with new actors: Neal McDonough, Angelica Ross, Emma Roberts, Jasmine Chiswell, Wes Bentley and Danny Huston
