Directed by Michael Grandage, romantic drama MY POLICEMAN, stars Harry Styles, Emma Corrin, Gina McKee, Linus Roache, David Dawson, and Rupert Everett, has released in theaters of United States on 21 October 2022 by Amazon Studios. The film will be later released online on OTT streaming platform AMAZON PRIME VIDEO.
The film sets in 1950s Brighton, a gay policeman, Tom Burgess, marries schoolteacher Marion Taylor while being in a relationship with Patrick Hazlewood, a museum curator. The secret they share threatens to ruin them all.
A beautifully crafted story of forbidden love and changing social conventions My Policeman film’s synopsis reads as “In the late 1990s, the arrival of elderly invalid Patrick into Marion and Tom’s home triggers the exploration of seismic events from 40 years previous: the passionate relationship between Tom and Patrick at a time when homosexuality was illegal.”
It is produced by Greg Berlanti, Philip Herd, Cora Palfrey, Robbie Rogers, Sarah Schechter under the banners Berlanti-Schechter Films, Independent Film Company, MGC, distributed by Amazon Studios.
It has a limited theatrical release in the United States on 21 October and will be available for streaming on Prime Video from 4 November 2022.
The film received mixed reviews from critics. A majority of critics praised Dawson’s performance while the reviews were more mixed on the performances of Styles and Corrin, with a majority criticising the film’s direction and screenplay.
Harry Styles was also seen lastly in Don’t Worry Darling (2022) film with Florence Pugh, Olivia Wilde, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, also in Eternals (2021), as Eros/Starfox, Dunkirk (2017) movies.
